Life is a constant remix
Last week, my friend and I were deep cleaning my kitchen in preperation of moving, talking about relationships. I said “Life is a constant remix. God consistantly puts me in the same situations over and over”.
You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, “You did not make me”? Can the pot say to the potter, “You know nothing”?
The experiences we have in life are not an accident. The people in our lives are there for a reason. There is a lesson to be learned in every relationship we have. He is molding us into the perfect piece of pottery. A beautiful work of art.
We spin wildly on the wheel of life and His mighty hands are shaping us all the while, forming us and guiding us into the vessel He intends us to be. What we perceive as faults, He sees as decorative character. What we would consider to be flaws, He sees as design. Funny how perspective is different through different eyes.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper youand not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Yesterday, another friend made a comment, “Why do I constantly find myself surrounded in people like this?”
We have been in training our whole lives for this very thing. Whatever the situation is for you, you’ve been there done that, bought the t-shirt…….heck, you own the company that sells the shirts.
I am a music minister because music is a vital part of worship to me….it’s what speaks to me.
I am surrounded by single mothers because I was a single mother myself….apparently my 15 year old learned something from me (others see it and tell me).
I am introduced to people with drug and alcohol issues because I was a drug addict myself…..I understand where they’re coming from and the stronghold of addiction.
I am drawn to people with problems with controlling, judgemental men because I know what it feels like….I have an interesting father.
The list goes on and on…I am 37 after all…..my life has not been dull. I am an expert in making mistakes, but aren’t we all?
Thank You Lord for knowing ahead of time the plans You have for me. Even when I don’t take the path that has the breadcrumbs You left, You can always create another breadcrumb trail that leads me where I need to be. I praise You for not leaving me to my own devices and abondoning me and claim the promise that You’ll never leave me or forsake me. Thank You for the people that You have entrusted to me. Thank You for blessing me with people who can mentor me and whom I can be a shining light for You. Help me to see myself and others through Your eyes.
